October 2012

Salvage and Selvage, a Fiber Artists Coalition touring exhibition opens with an artists reception on January 26, 2014 from 1:30 - 4 p.m. at the Anderson Arts Center in Kenosha, WI. It's next stop will be the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Museum in Wausau, WI. Additional venues will be added to the Current and Future Events page as they are secured. Tree Serenade is part of Salvage and Selvage.

Tree Serenade was created to meet the critera of a Fiber Artists Coalition exhibition titled Salvage and Selvage that requires the use of recycled materials in the piece. The criteria is met using repurposed samples made by the artist as part of an on-line free motion quilting tutorial by Leah Day. The leaf clusters and cardinal are made from used dryer sheets that have been spray painted and bonded to drop clothes from the artist's wet studio work.
